In this workshop, participants explore nonverbal communication through touch, gesture, distance, and silent interaction using clay as a medium.
Without relying on spoken language, the workshop focuses on how emotion, empathy, and tension can be translated through physical forms and movements. Participants engage in simple performative exchanges and observe how communication shifts between body, material and perception. Instructions for participation will be introduced during the workshop, followed by a short group discussion. The workshop invites participants to reconsider how we connect and communicate beyond words.
Miru Kim
My practice explores nonverbal communication and the relationship between the self and the outside world through clay. Working with clay allows me to experience a deep physical connection with the material, where emotion, touch, and gesture become forms of communication beyond language.
Through performative and intuitive processes, I respond to natural elements such as wind, sound, light, and movement, awakening a heightened awareness of presence and sensation. My work focuses on haptic perception and silent interaction, exploring how emotions and unspoken messages can be communicated and reciprocated through the body and material.
